CEBU, Philippines — A high-value individual (HVI) was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the operatives of the City Intelligence Unit of the Cebu City Police Office led by Police Chief Major R. Guardaya along J. Tabura Street, Barangay Pardo, Cebu City the other night.
Wilfredo Baya Tecson, alias JR, unemployed and resident of Poblacion Ward 1, Barangay Tiber Cayam, Minglanilla City, was caught with about 410 grams of suspected shabu worth P2.7 million.
According to Guardaya, Tecson can dispose of a kilo of shabu every week and his area of operations is not only in Barangay Pardo but including the neighboring barangays.
The police received information about the suspect’s illegal activity, so they monitored him and resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
The police also learned that a person named “Paye” who is currently incarcerated at the Cebu City Jail Male Dormitory is the one who allegedly give instructions to the suspect, as well as the supply of drugs to be disposed of, about the contacts and will only meet in Barangay Pardo.
LAPU-LAPU OPERATION
Meanwhile, two separate buy-bust operations were also conducted by the police of the City Intelligence Unit and City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office last Friday night.
At 10:26 p.m., Ramonito Napoles Tumulak, 42 years old, was arrested in Purok Kalabasa, Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.
The police allegedly recovered 25 grams of suspected shabu from him which is worth P170,000.
More than an hour later, the operatives conducted another buy-bust operation in Purok Saging, Barangay Gun-ob, that led to the arrest of Jayric Operiano Pahimutang, alias Burak, a 27-year-old resident of the said barangay.
Seized from Pahimutang was 100 grams of alleged shabu worth P680,000.
Those arrested individuals are scheduled to be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165. — Romeo D. Marantal (FREEMAN)
