CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) is constantly coordinating with the Cebu City Jail male dormitory officers to align their strategy and operations against illegal drugs.

At present, they have a monthly meeting that is attended by officials of the Cebu City Jail male dormitory and other government agencies like the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7.

CCPO Chief, Col. Ireneo Dalogdog, said they work together with other law enforcement agencies and often exchange information that would help them in their operations and overall approach towards preventing crimes in the city.

It has become frequent that those they have arrested in their operations would point to someone who is incarcerated in the Cebu City Jail as the source of their illegal drugs.

The head of the Cebu City Jail previously disclosed that the charges against those arrested by the police in their anti-drug operation have been subjected to investigation by their Intelligence and Investigation Division, where among the things they check include the names of the Persons Deprived of Liberty that were revealed during the arrest.

Also last month, the head of the facility has concluded its investigation into the smuggling of cellphones into the facility where they found out that no jail personnel were involved in the trade. — GAN (FREEMAN)
