CEBU, Philippines — Job orders and casual personnel at the Cebu City government at present will be renewed except for those who do not pass the standards set.
This was announced by the new city administrator, Atty. Collin Rosell yesterday.
“As per directive of the Office of the Mayor, except those who are found guilty and who are involved in graft and corrupt acts and practices–kawatan and those confirmed positive of use of illegal drugs--adik and including other offenses involving moral turpitude..the employment and engagement of services of all JOs and casuals are hereby ordered—renewed,” Rosell said.
There are around 5,000 job orders and casuals combined working in the city government accordingly.
In line with this, Rosell said JOs had been required to update their personal information for proper identification, personnel inventory and evaluation.
“All JOs are required to update their personal information including picture, signature, home address sketch, and contact numbers,” added Rosell.
Rosell also announced that all personnel whose salary or part of their salary is sourced from funds of the city government of Cebu and who are assigned to different barangays to report to City Hall’s satellite center in the area “for personal inventory, additional assignments, and evaluation.”
All departments and offices had also been reminded that there is a continuous evaluation of all personnel.
“We have as of this time, April to June, so the evaluation will be conducted during the period and you know already what will be the consequences for poor performance,” Rosell stressed.
Mayor Michael Rama recently reminded the JOs to be patient and just do its job well instead of complaining and sowing intrigues.
Rama also went on to say, he is not to be blamed by others whom he said he did not hire.
During the last administration of Rama, he said, their total employees were only 5,000 but have since increased through the years.
