CEBU, Philippines —  The Toledo City Police Station received seven brand new mobile patrol vehicles from the city government.

The turnover ceremony was held on Thursday, March 30, at the Toledo City Police Station. The event was witnessed by Police Col. Alladin Collado, Chief Regional Staff of Police Regional Office (PRO)-7.

Lt. Colonel Dennis Guzman, city police chief, said the turnover and blessing ceremony of the new vehicles show the strong relationship between the police and the city government.

The new patrol cars were bought using Toledo City government’s Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan funds through the help of Mayor Marjorie Piczon-Perales and the members of the City Council.

"This is the first time in recent history that multiple mobile patrol sport utility vehicles were successfully procured to cater specifically for police operations by component cities," reads a statement released by the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO).

Guzman said the new patrol cars will help strengthen the anti-criminality efforts of the Toledo City Police Station as well as maintain Peace and Order in the city.

“ High-impact kasi siya dahil ito yung una na component city na naghatag nationwide nang ganyan karami  na sasakyan, yung impact namin sa police, sa enforcement namin, almost 100 percent kaya namin patrolan yung buong 38 barangays kung baga yung police presence namin 100 percent coverage ng buong Toledo City,” Guzman said. — FPL (FREEMAN)
