CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) is set to file today charges for violation of the Anti-Hazing Law and homicide against at least 10 suspects in the death of Ronnel Baguio, a second year Marine Engineering Student in one of universities in Cebu City, who died of hazing.

Police Lt. Col. Ma. Theresa Macatangay, CCPO spokesperson, said that they are supposed to have filed the case yesterday, but a recent development has compelled them to move the filing to another day.

The police recently located the place where the hazing was conducted, and they were able to identify more suspects in the death of Baguio.

Seven suspects have been identified by the police, but only four of them have surrendered so far. These suspects reportedly wanted to help solve Baguio's case.

"This was a result of the statement by the recent witness that we had,” said Macatangay.

She added that they have recommended that the investigators of the Mambaling Police Station 11 to hold a meeting with the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) to get their side on what they can add to the case.

“If everything will be fine today, we will be filing the case tomorrow.  We already prepared the cases, the documents ready for filing, we just want to make sure that everything is covered,” said Macatangay.

The PAO has also coordinated with the Cebu City Police Office. (FREEMAN)
