Danao City brings services closer to isolated residents
CEBU, Philippines — The Danao City government has opened an extension office near its mountain barangays aiming to expand its service to isolated areas.
The city officials led by Danao City Mayor Thomas "Mix" Durano held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new extension office at Barangay Lawaan last Saturday.
The local government unit (LGU) stated that the office targets to bring the government's frontline services closer to residents without traveling far.
Among the services available at the extension office were Ayuda, Health Department, Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and Engineering, among others.
The office would serve residents from Barangay Lawaan and also its neighboring barangays Cambubho, Danasan, Bayabas, Matagobtob, Pili, Santican, Sac-Sac, Langosig, and Oguis.
Additionally, Durano would also hold some of his office work at the extension office and promise his people that their concerns would be addressed promptly and easily with the initiative.
"This setup will further strengthen the bond between the local government and the people, promoting transparency, accountability, and responsiveness," a part of the LGU's statement reads.
Also present during the office's launch were Vice Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III, Danao City Investment and Promotion Center (DCIPC) officer-in-charge Ramon “Red” Durano VI, and different barangay officials from the areas involved. — GMR (FREEMAN)
