Misamis Oriental, Samar officials visit Capitol for “benchmarking”
CEBU, Philippines — Several officials from two provinces in the country visited Cebu to conduct a benchmarking tour of the Cebu Capitol.
The delegation of Misamis Oriental, led by Governor Peter Unabia, and the Province of Eastern Samar, spearheaded by Vice Governor Maricar Sison-Goteesan, made the “benchmarking tour” on separate days.
The officials of the two provinces, including their board members and department heads, went to the Capitol to personally learn from the officials of the Province of Cebu what they are doing to develop the Province of Cebu.
During the visit of the officials of the Province of Eastern Samar, Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia said that one of the secrets that the Capitol has done to overcome the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and Typhoon Odette was the unity of the officials of the province.
“When we have a united government, then we can face all odds, and we can say with a brave voice, ‘bring it on! We can face you, we will deal with you. We will not only survive, we will prevail!’ And that is how Cebu has continued to forge on,” said Garcia to the officials in Eastern Samar.
Officials from the two provinces also learned about the methods of implementing programs in the capitol such as the arrival of tourism through Suroy-Suroy Sugbo and programs such as Sugbusog, Sugbo Negosyo and others. — GAN (FREEMAN)
