Village group now ready to conduct own workshop

CEBU, Philippines — The Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) in Cebu City is now ready to conduct the 2023 Barangay Development Planning (BDP) workshop, after completing its preparatory meeting and levelling off activity with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The activity was spearheaded by DILG-Cebu City Director, Dr. Neila N. Aquino, together with the LnB Cebu City, City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), Department of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries (DVMF) and CREMDEC.

Technical Personnel of the DILG Cebu City served as the resource persons for the topics on BDP Process and familiarization of the workshop outputs.

“It was a fruitful day of sharing ideas from our facilitators as the Preparatory Meeting for the Conduct of Barangay Development Planning Workshop was a successful one held at the ABC Social Hall,” read the LnB’s post.

The BDP is set to take place within the first quarter of this year with all barangays expected to participate.

The BDP is a comprehensive multi-sectoral development plan that is formulated through an inclusive and participatory approach led by the barangay development council and approved by the Sangguniang Barangay.

Being the basic political unit, the barangays serve as a primary planning and implementing unit of government policies, plans, programs, projects, and activities in the community, as stressed by DILG in the formulation of the BDP. (FREEMAN)
