Bogo cops top in province-wide veggie-gardening

CEBU, Philippines —  The Bogo City Police Station has emerged as winner of the province-wide Sugbusog sa Estasyonan Season 2 by the Cebu Provincial Government.

Aside from receiving a plaque of recognition, the Bogo City Police Station also received a P300,000 check and a brand new Sugbo Cop vehicle, a pick-up truck it can use for operations, as a first time winner in the district level.

Bogo City police chief, Police Lt. Col. Florendo Fajardo, thanked the Capitol for the recognition saying that they did not expect the award.

He said the incentive they received from the Capitol is a great contribution to maintain the peace and order in their city.

Placed second is the Argao Municipal Police Station followed by Alegria Municipal Police Station. They got P200,000 and P100,000 worth of checks, respectively.

As to the district level, the Sogod Municipal Police Station and the Alegria MPS also emerged as winners that received brand new Sugbo Cop vehicles.

For Argao MPS, as a repeat winner, the station also received a radio communication system with two mobile base radios and eight handheld radios. The police station also got two police patrol motor bikes with blinker, siren and public address system.

The Naga City PS, Balamban MPS and Mandaue City PS 6 also received police patrol motor bikes and radio communication systems, according to the Capitol Information Office.

During the awarding ceremony at the Capitol on November 16, Police Brigadier General Roderick Augustus Alba, director of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas, said the PRO-7 compound will maintain a vegetable garden in line with the Capitol’s program.

“..the Sugbusog sa Estasyonan will continue to evolve and flourish because we share the same goals in approaches in line with our community policing strategies,” Alba said. — GMR (FREEMAN)
