CEBU, Philippines — Starting last midnight, a liquor ban has been implemented by the Cebu City government within the 100-meter radius of the two universities hosting the second regional bar exams in Cebu today.
Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) director Col. Ireneo Dalogdog said they are enforcing Executive Order (EO) No. 14 of Mayor Michael Rama that prohibits selling and consumption of liquor in areas near the testing centers of the 2022 bar exams.
Anyone caught violating the liquor ban will be fined P1,000. Those who are unable to pay the fine will be required to do a community service.
Dalogdog said they have deployed 102 personnel at the University of Cebu in Banilad and University of San Carlos in downtown campus where the bar exams will be held today, November 9, and on November 13, 16 and 20.
Dalogdog said the deployment of security personnel started as early as 3 a.m. today.
Dalogdog reminded the public, especially drivers, that honking near the testing centers is prohibited.
“During the examination day bawal pud tong mga mobusina og kusog ngadto sa mga motorcyle or any motor vehicle nga kusog ang ilahang busina, ginabawalan, so mao to siya’y bag-ong nadagdag sa atoang security preparations,” said Dalogdog.
