Drug den dismantled, 3 arrested

CEBU, Philippines —  Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 dismantled a drug-den and arrested three individuals during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City on Saturday evening.

The subject of the operation identified as Eufrosino Jaca Jr., 58, was arrested along with other two drug den visitors identified as Jayan Mandawe, 22, and Gerwin Estardo, 21, both vendors.

PDEA-7 agents seized ten packs of shabu weighing 12 grams with an estimated market value of P81,000; buy-bust money, cash amounting to P240 suspected to be proceeds from illegal drugs, and various drug paraphernalia.

Dismantling of drug dens is considered a high-impact operation as drug dens are breeding ground for violence and criminality and disrupt peace and order in the community.

Cases for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the suspects. — GMR (FREEMAN)
