Barangay Mabolo serves as pilot area for city’s waste segregation
CEBU, Philippines — Barangay Mabolo will serve as the pilot area for Cebu City’s waste segregation as part of its solid waste management program.
Practicing proper waste segregation is in accordance with Republic Act No. 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
The Department of Public Services (DPS) had already called on sitio leaders to inform them of its pilot implementation.
DPS will be going from one sitio to another to explain this program together with the Cebu City Environment and Natural Resources Office.
The whole barangay Mabolo mag-segregate na sila,” said Engr. Rogelio Legaspi, head of DPS’ maintenance section in a report from the City’s PIO.
Legaspi said if the pilot program in Mabolo will be successful, they will then proceed to the other barangays.
— GMR (FREEMAN)
