CEBU, Philippines — Cebu’s tourism and economy get an added boost as 40 kennel groups all over the country gather here tomorrow (August 28) for the Khalvis Bullies Anniversary Show dubbed as Cebully Mania at the IC3.
Groups that have confirmed participation are from Manila and other parts of Luzon, along with Zamboanga, Dipolog, Bohol, and other neighboring areas of the Cebu island.
Over two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers of the event felt that it is high time to “come out and play” with the American bully breed as the highlight.
Like humans, pet dogs also need to socialize and this is an opportune time for breeders, enthusiasts, and the rest to get together.
Event organizers from Khalvis Bullies and Raw Bulls said this Sunday’s event will bring Cebu to a different level with two well-known international judges coming over including American Bully Kennel Club’s Ragim Simone Magh and Monsorat McField.
This will be a chance for Cebu to be put on the world map as good and caring dog breeders even with the weather challenge.
Breeders and owners of American bullies here have also pledged to support other groups in their respective causes.
Meanwhile, the group also welcomes the Cebu City Government’s plan to put animal welfare desks in the police stations.
Dexter Ty, Neil Noel, and Jacques Angel hope that thru their event, mall owners and other establishments will be more open to welcoming pet owners and their pets seeing how harmless they could be.
They also look forward to having more open spaces and parks for their pets.
Pet dogs, aside from being a man’s best friend, also give some security and help in the emotional well-being of humans, especially after over two years into the pandemic where mental health is one of the top concerns worldwide. — FPL (FREEMAN)
