CH coterminous workers to undergo evaluation

CEBU, Philippines — All coterminous employees of the Cebu City government will have to undergo an evaluation process to determine if their contracts will be renewed in the next administration.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama has instructed his executive secretary, Atty. Dominic Diño, to issue a memorandum to all casual and job order employees, whose employment contracts expire on June 30, to reapply ahead.

Diño said that all applicants will be evaluated based on the criteria set by the mayor in the hiring of personnel. Diño emphasized that Rama wants all city government workers to be upright, clean, neat, and dedicated to their work.

According to Diño, those who are “kawatan, tapulan, hugawan, intregero/intregera, pala-away, way nahibal-an, dili mobayad og utang and mo-bukobuko” have no place at the City Hall.

“The Mayor is serious about the criteria and he keeps on repeating it…It has been common knowledge to all at the City Hall nga mao na siya,” said Diño.

The notice to coterminous workers to reapply before their contracts expire is part of the transition for the new administration.

For an easy and fast evaluation, concerned employees have to submit their application letter together with the previous copy of their personal data sheet (PDS) to the evaluation committee at the Office of the Mayor on or before June 16, 2022.

The deadline has been set earlier so that no one will report to work without any appointment and to avoid another delay in the release of salary. It was stated in the memorandum that recommendations may not be entertained by the members of the evaluation team.

“Please be advised that with NO APPOINTMENT/JOB ORDER document, you are to refrain from reporting on July 1, 2022,” read the memo signed by Diño.

Diño could not give the data yet how many coterminous employees are there at the City Hall. He said they would get the data after the inventory.
