CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office has implemented the adjusted curfew hours starting at 11 p.m. last night as they continue conducting their Oplan Bulabog.
Police Lt. Colonel Maria Theresa Macatangay, information officer at CCPO, said the implementation is part of their operations of Oplan Bulabog.
Just last Thursday evening, the city police were able to apprehend at least 122 protocol violators. Aside from this, CCPO cops also inspected a total of 290 establishments.
Among the 122, 80 were curfew violators while 49 were caught not wearing facemasks.
Macatangay was hoping that at least few violators would be apprehended as it would indicate that the people are listening to the call of their participation in solving the problem.
As the city is placed under the Alert level 3, Macatangay said they will be also meeting up with the different establishment owners to make sure that the allowed capacity in catering customers will be met.
"Apart from that, apil na sad ang mga malls, so there will be coordinating meetings, so there will be better understanding sa mga protocols nga i-implement," said Macatangay.
In line with this, Macatangay said more police visibility is expected around the city in the coming days as they finalize their police deployment.
"We will be studying the deployment scheme...certainly there will be visible changes especially in the areas that we have identified na taas ang traffic sa mga tawo, just minor na adjustments lang na sya in response sa atong category," said Macatangay.
Currently, Macatangay said they are yet to receive any directive to tighten security checkpoints in the barangays. — GMR (FREEMAN)
