CEBU, Philippines — Residents of Talisay City working in Cebu City are expected to experience hassle-free travel to their workplace soon with a fleet of modernized public jeepneys plying from different areas in Talisay to IT Park in Apas, Cebu City starting next week.
“I hope nga atong mga kaigsoonang Talisaynon dili na gyud maglisud sa pagpangitag sakyanan on their way to work especially our Talisaynons working in Cebu City,” said Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas Jr.
Gullas who graced the blessing and official launching of the Mango Jeep, a modern and eye-catching public jeepney, said there will be 15 units that will be plying from Talisay to I.T. Park and back –“42E”.
The Talisay- Cebu City IT Park route passes thru Poblacion, Talisay (near Talisay City College), Dumlog, San Isidro, Tabunok, Bulacao, Pardo, Basak, Punta Princesa, Salvador Extension, Banawa, M. Velez, Escario, Lahug, JY Square and I.T Park terminal and vice versa.
“This is truly a big help to our constituents working in that area and those working in Cebu City,” stresses Gullas.
Cebu City residents who are also working in Talisay City are also happy with this development.
The minimum fare of the said jeepney is pegged at P11 for the shortest route from TCC to Saint Paul in Bulacao and as high as P33 from TCC to IT Park. — GMR (FREEMAN)
