CEBU, Philippines —   Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama has formally introduced the members of his management team who help him manage and run the affairs of the city government.

They were his handpicked and trusted individuals who are willing to work and can keep up his pace—that is working round-the-clock.

Lawyer Dominic Diño was named secretary to the mayor while lawyer Matt Medalle was appointed chief of staff. Neil Odchigue will serve as Rama’s protocol officer.

Engr. Ma. Suzanne O. Ardosa and Atty. Mary Rose Lubino will serve as City Administrator and Asst. City Administrator, respectively.

The City Legal Office is now headed by Atty. Eugene Orbita. The Human Resource Development is under Remie Vestil Mondigo while Atty. Homer Cabaral was appointed resident ombudsman.

Engr. Dante Arcilla is now at the helm of the Division for the Welfare of the Urban Poor (DWUP) while Engr. Rolando Ardosa takes over the Department of General Services.

Sonia Empinado has been moved to the Cebu City Medical Center as the assistant head for administration while Regina Mercedes Lingaolingao will head the City Hospitalization Assistance and Medicines Program (CHAMP).

Ian Hassamal has been appointed as head of the Barangay Affairs Office while PR practitioner Cerwin T. Eviota is now the new head of the city’s Public Information Office. Rama said he is currently evaluating the other departments.

The mayor has appeased all the qualified City Hall employees and those who possess the qualities he wants for an employee not to fear of losing their jobs.

He said that even the co-terminus appointees of the late mayor Edgardo Labella may be rehired. — FPL (FREEMAN)
