CIDG-7 ranks second in nationwide SEMPO
CEBU, Philippines — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas has ranked 2nd in the nationwide Synchronized Enhanced Managing Police Operations (SEMPO) as it arrested least 120 individuals for the whole month of November.
The number included eight fugitives considered as “most wanted persons” with one of them even listed in the regional level.
“Sya (listed in regional level) ay may kasong murder at ang pito naman ay provincial or city level dahil sa mga kasong forcible abduction, frustrated murder, estafa, violation of R.A. 10591 or comprehensive law on firearms, robbery, falsification of public officer, at isang station level na may kasong on the anti-carnapping law,” said Police Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, CIDG-7 chief.
Aside from this, there were other 36 fugitives listed as wanted persons who are also members of a criminal gang.
The operations also resulted in the confiscation of 21 loose firearms.
“Kung napapansin natin, marami tayong mga firearms na confiscated,” said Dalogdog.
Dalogdog also said that they will intensify their campaign against loose firearms in line with the upcoming 2022 elections.
“Dahil mahigpit na pinagbabawal ang pagdadala ng baril during the election period, na ito ay mag-uumpisa next year, January 9, 2022 to June 8, 2022,” said Dalogdog, as he appealed to the public to report any form of abuse or violence. — GMR (FREEMAN)
