Moreno to grace Sugbo Negosyo awarding ceremony
CEBU, Philippines — For the third time, presidential aspirant and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is set to visit Cebu next week.
This time, he will attend the awarding ceremony of the Sugbo Negosyo Program of the Cebu Provincial Government.
Domagoso’s visit on Monday in Cebu would be the third time since he formally filed his certificate of candidacy for President in the 2022 National and Local Elections.
The first visit was last month where he visited several sectors in tourism and micro, small medium enterprises in southern Cebu then paid a courtesy call to Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.
The second visit was last week when he visited the fire victims in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.
In a press release sent to the media, Domagoso was invited by the president of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), Steven Yu, to attend the event after the presidentiable’s pronouncement that he would use the Sugbo Negosyo Program as a model program for recovery of the medium, small and micro enterprises (MSMEs) affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We hope this event will help you better understand the program and how it has helped reboot the livelihood of the Cebuanos and further improved the local economy,” read part of Yu’s letter to Domagoso.
The Sugbo Negosyo is a program of the administration of Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia that helps Cebuanos to have livelihood and recover after losing work and income during the pandemic.
The awarding of the winners of the said program will be announced on Monday during the ceremony at 4 p.m. at the Capitol Social Hall.
Domagoso previously described the said program as “brilliant and doable idea” fit as an example program for the MSME’s recovery. — GMR (FREEMAN)
