7 Mandaue City Hall employees positive for drugs
CEBU, Philippines — At least seven Mandaue City Hall employees have tested positive for illegal drugs in a surprise drug test.
The employees came from the City Health Office, Emergency Operation Center and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
City Councilor Nerissa Soon-Ruiz, focal person of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, said the drug test result will be subjected to a confirmatory test.
Once confirmed, Soon-Ruiz said the employees will be given due process and will undergo a rehabilitation program of the government.
During the surprise drug test, three employees allegedly submitted water instead of urine samples.
Soon-Ruiz said they will be summoned to explain their acts.
She further said the three employees will face administrative sanctions but it is up to Mayor Jonas Cortes whether to terminate their service or not. — Banat News, GMR (FREEMAN)
