Central Visayas administered 3.1 million COVID -19 doses
As of 11 p.m. of November 1, 2021, the total number of individuals who got their first jab stood at 1,644,491 (41.22%) while those who are full vaccinated was 1,520,415 (38.11%).

CEBU, Philippines — A total of over 3.1 million doses of vaccine against coronavirus disease have been administered in Central Visayas based on the latest data released by the Department of Health.

As of 11 p.m. of November 1, 2021, the total number of individuals who got their first jab stood at 1,644,491 (41.22%) while those who are full vaccinated was 1,520,415 (38.11%).

DOH-Central Visayas Center of Health Development, through its official Facebook page, said “an individual inoculated with a single-dose vaccine shall be considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19.”

The DOH also released the breakdown of the number of doses administered per local government unit as follows:

In Cebu City, the total doses of vaccine administered is 769, 824, of which 409,767 (85.14% of target) are for first dose and 360,057 (74.81%) are for second dose. The total eligible population to be vaccinated in the city is 481,299.

In Lapu-Lapu City, 182, 481 (66.99% of the goal) residents already got their first dose of vaccine while 170,942 (62.90%) are now fully vaccinated.

In Mandaue City, 193,074 (57.63%) got their first jab while 173,506 (51.79) have completed the second dose of vaccine.

For the provinces in Central Visayas, 35.99% or 236, 095 of the eligible population to be vaccinated in Bohol is already fully vaccinated while 237,853 has got their first dose of vaccine.

In Cebu province, 402,750 (26.825) have been inoculated for first dose while 379,391 (25.27%) have been fully vaccinated.

In Negros Oriental, 190,615 have received their first dose and 161,750 have completed their vaccination. This means that 23.74% of the eligible population there has been fully vaccinated.

In Siquijor, 28,384 (45.17%) already got their first dose while 38,674 (61.55%) are now fully vaccinated.

As to the number of vaccinated individuals based on the priority group, DOH data showed that 131,989 of the A1 priority group or those health care workers in the whole Central Visayas are fully vaccinated.

For A2 or senior citizens, 230,000 have completed their doses of vaccines; A3 or the persons with comorbidities, 376, 642; A4 or the frontline persons from the essential sectors; 616,760; while for A5 or the indigent population, 165,024.

The DOH is urging the local government units to continue their registration and inoculation program, and “if able, to start registration for the rest of the population, including the adolescents or those 12 years to 17 years old” who are also allowed to get a jab against COVID-19. — JMD (FREEMAN)
