Inday Sara visits Cebu City Hall
CEBU, Philippines — Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio visited Cebu City Hall yesterday, a day after her visit at the Cebu Provincial Capitol.
The presidential daughter was welcomed by Councilor Raymond Alvin Garcia, City Administrator Floro Casas Jr., Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) chairman Joey Daluz III and Atty. Mary Rose Lubino, the chief of staff of Mayor Edgardo Labella.
Garcia, in his official Facebook page, shared a photo with President Rodrigo Duterte’s daughter inside the office of Labella captioned, “Good morning Cebu! Have a great weekend. #ipadayonangkausaban.”
Daluz also posted a photo with Carpio with a caption, “Just met with the next president of the Philippines.”
Councilor Donaldo Hontiveros, in his official Instagram account as well, shared a photo with Carpio at the Vice Mayor’s Office.
Carpio earlier revealed she is open to run for president in the 2022 elections.
The mayor expressed willingness to run for the country’s top post during her visit at the Cebu Provincial Capitol.
“Yes,” she said when asked in an interview if she is open to the idea of seeking the presidency.
However, she said nothing is final yet.
Carpio paid a courtesy visit to Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia but clarified that there were no particular discussions on politics.
She said they only tackled “light subjects” like the airport operations, and Capitol’s museum, among others, in a two-hour closed-door meeting.
But she said she would be back in Cebu soon to know the sentiments of the Cebuanos.
“There were no discussions about the 2022 polls. But I’ll be back soon to talk to Cebuanos and ask them what they really wanted. It is important for us to know their sentiments,” she earlier quoted as saying. — GMR (FREEMAN)
