CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) is set to conduct a final inspection at Kawasan Falls in Badian town as it sets to reopen for the public since it was closed due to the pandemic last year.
CPPO director, Police Colonel Engelbert Soriano, said they are preparing for the security details of the said tourist spot to make sure that the minimum health standard protocols will be followed towards its reopening.
“Yung area security for sure, prepared kami dyan yung security din sa mga dadalaw doon and for most yung observance ng social distancing and yung health protocols natin,” said Soriano.
As part of their security intervention, Soriano said they will be giving free facemask to those who fail to wear one.
“Kung sakaling may dumating na walang facemask, wag naman nilang sadyain na wag na magdala kasi merong police na magbigay,” said Soriano.
Soriano earlier said he will be personally checking the Kawasan Falls during the reopening on May 3 to assess the possible adjustments of the security measures.
“Then from there, maggawa ako ng assessment together with the mayor and the chief of police there kung kailangan ba ng additional na tao or kailangan ba mag-focus ng tourist police doon sa area,” said Soriano.
On the possibility of the 50 percent capacity requirement of the said tourist spot, Soriano said it would be the call of the local government unit which he added he will be supporting.
“Sumunod tayo sa ating nga exist programs at suportahan natin, ating chief PNP, ating regional director at ating provincial government, sila naman ang talagang alyado natin sa ating mga proyekto at activities sa Probinsiya ng Cebu,” appealed Soriano to the men and women of the CPPO. — GMR (FREEMAN)
