PAL to reroute some flights to Cebu from NAIA

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Some flights of Philippine Airlines (PAL) will be rerouted to Cebu due to travel limits implemented at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

PAL said its flights from Dammam and Doha on March 26 would land in Mactan-Cebu International Airport instead of in NAIA because of quarantine capacity limitations at the Manila airport.

“The re-routing to Cebu is necessary to avoid a full cancellation of your flight,” the airline said.

The government has set at 1,500 the maximum number of passenger arrivals from international flights at NAIA from 8 a.m. of March 18 up to 8 a.m. of April 19.

The previous maximum capacity limit was at 3,000 passengers a day.

In compliance with the government’s mandate to limit international arrivals, PAL has previously announced suspension of a number of international flights up to March 31.

PAL said it would be announcing additional flight cancellations for the remainder of the stated period once the details are confirmed.

Budget carrier Cebu Pacific has also cancelled its Manila-Narita-Manila and Manila-Nagoya-Manila flights from March 18 to April 18. — Philippine Star News Service
