Labella to keep working remotely

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella will continue working from home as two of his office staff tested positive for COVID-19.
“Ang ako sad itawon nga opisina dunay duha kabuok nga napositive labi pa gyud ang tig-andam sa akong pagkaon, na-positive. So, better nga di lang sa ko mo-report sa opisina paglikay nga ma-infection na usab,” Labella said in yesterday’s virtual press conference.
Labella did not specifically disclose until when he will observe the work from home arrangement.
The mayor started overseeing the city from home last January 25, 2021 after a three-day medical leave due to an ear infection.
When asked about his health condition, Labella answered: “It’s good. Pasalamat ko that the antibiotics have really addressed the infection.”
He earlier said his doctors have advised that the medication may run for not less than 10 days but not more than 14 days.
Moreover, Labella said he was advised by his doctors not to expose himself to crowded places because, according to them, that was really the cause of the infection.
He assured that even if he is working at home, transactions are running smoothly.
Labella is in constant communication with the Emergency Operations Center in the fight against COVID-19, as well as with his department heads, especially on important matters. — KQD (FREEMAN)
