2 drug suspects nabbed in separate buy-bust ops

CEBU, Philippines — Two high-value individuals were arrested by the authorities in separate buy-bust operations in Cebu City overnight yielding at least P500,000 worth of illegal drugs.

Jade Dela Peña Mangitngit, 23, a resident of Sitio Laguna, Barangay Cogon Pardo, Cebu City, was arrested by the elements of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Intelligence Unit yesterday dawn.

Police Lt. Colonel Randy Caballes, CIU chief, said Mangitngit was an ex-girlfriend of a suspected drug lord now detained at the Cebu City Jail where she also get her supply from.  She was also romantically-linked to an inmate at the Mandaue City Jail.

Based on the police investigation, Mangitngit had been involved in illegal drug trade for more than two years. Confiscated from Mangitngit were P306,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Few hours earlier, another high-value target was arrested in Sitio San Vicente, Barangay Tinago, Cebu City.

Operatives of Waterfront Police Station nabbed Val Pitogo Ngoho,33,  a resident of Sitio Nava, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, after selling drugs to undercover policeman. Seized from him was 70 grams of shabu with estimated value of P476,000 and a caliber .45 pistol. — FPL (FREEMAN)
