For disturbing online classes: Report videoke sessions during daytime - Cops

CEBU, Philippines —  The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) will be closely monitoring videoke sessions during daytime in the city amid reports that school children attending online classes have been disturbed by these revelries during daytime.

Following the order of PNP Chief Police General Camilo Cascolan to enforce the anti-noise ordinance, specifically against sound systems that may have disturb the community, the CCPO is encouraging residents to report to the police violators in their areas.

“Atong ipadayon atong pagpatrol labaw na anang mga tago nga lugar labi na adlawan kay ang mga estudyante ilang klase naa sulod sa balay unya adlawan, so maka disturbo gyud. Labaw na og kusog kaayo ang music,” said CCPO Director Colonel Josefino Ligan.

“Kung naa moy nahibaw-an sa komunidad nga nagpadayon labi na anang magsige pa og kanta-kanta unya adlawang dako, palihog lang og report aron ma action-nan dayon sa kapulisan,” he added.

Ligan said the public could report such incidents via CPO hotlines 0966-465-2556 and 0918-268-2846 for “immediate response” from the police.

Meanwhile, a total of 42 individuals were arrested for violating the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) protocols and were fined P500 before getting released in Minglanilla town, late night Tuesday.

Police Staff Sergeant Aldin Traya of the Minglanilla Police Station said that they were able to apprehend the 42 violators in the different areas of the town during their Synchronized Enhanced Management Police Operations (SEMPO) on Tuesday morning until evening.

Most of the arrested individuals were those who went out of their residences even when it was not their scheduled date and those not wearing face masks or not observing social distancing.

It could be remembered that in the previous weeks, several individuals in the town were also arrested for flocking public places to drink liquor and violating curfew in line with the MGCQ protocols.

Before the release of the individuals, they were reminded of the protocols that should be followed while the town is still under community quarantine.  — JMD (FREEMAN)
