CEBU, Philippines — Three graduates of Southwestern University-Phinma made it to the Top 10 of the latest Physician Licensure Examinations.
They are April Jean Guinto Gapo, who ranked eight with a rating of 87 percent; Jessah April Singson Naingue, who placed ninth with a 86.83 rating; and Carren Emirose Honrada Solidor, who took the 10th spot with a 86.67 percent rating. Interestingly, they share the same birth month, April.
Naigue, who also ranked ninth during the Medical Technology licensure examination in 2014, said she could not make it through the journey without the support of her loved ones.
She also thanked her alma mater, SWU-Phima’s Colleges of Medtech and Medicine, for preparing and molding her into the person she is today.
“To my dear alma mater, Southwestern University-Phinma to thee I will forever offer my laurels,” Naigue’s Facebook post read.
Solidor, a native of Valencia in Bukindon, for her part, shared that she conditioned herself to top the exam.
“Before approaching the lobby (of SWU-Phinma), a banner was hanged, top something dr.___ I said to myself, I am gonna see my name there soon!” she recalled.
Solidor, a scholar of the city government of Valencia, will render services for three years at the City Health Office as part of the return service agreement.
According to the LGU of Valencia’s post, “Doc Carren Emirose is the second doctor produced by the City of Valencia under the scholarship program after Dr. Rhogieh M. Nomus. She will now join the ranks of our brave frontline workers in the fight against COVID-19 and in promoting the health of our people.”
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced the results of the exams yesterday.
