CEBU, Philippines — The police are now eyeing love triangle as the motive behind the death of a 41-year old female who was shot dead inside her house in Purok Narra, Sitio Simborio, Tayud, Liloan, Cebu Saturday afternoon.
The victim was identified as certain Maria Victoria Corpuz Lingal, a resident of said place.
"Sa pagkakaron wala pa gyud mi nakita nga idea or naa ba siyay mga nakontra, ang estorya-estorya ra sa mga tawo nga mura’g naa kuno ni uyab-uyab nga wala sad sila kaila," said Police Staff Sergeant Nelson Sadile, investigator of the case.
According to Sadile, after the husband of Corpuz died, she reportedly has found a live-in partner.
However, people alleged that Corpuz has another lover aside from her live-in partner.
Over this allegation, Sadile said they are leaning their investigation towards possible love triangle as motive behind the murder knowing that the victim doesn’t have any person to have in conflict with.
"Wala naman nuon na siyay ka live-in na ron kay naminyo naman og lain ang kaning laki, kining uyab niya karon nga wala mailhi, wala sad silay detalye pa kung taga diin or asa gatrabaho," Sadile said.
Further investigation also revealed that Corpuz was not included in the watch list for any illegal activities such as illegal drug trading.
Two unidentified men entered the house of Corpuz at around 1:30 p.m. last Saturday and shot the victim dead.
The assailants reportedly left immediately riding a motorcycle.
Residents in the area have accordingly only heard the gun shot and thought it was only an electric spark since it was raining.
Investigators are still conducting follow-up investigation of the case. — GMR (FREEMAN)
