19 more cops defeat COVID-19
CEBU, Philippines — At least 19 members of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 have recovered from COVID-19 and were released from the Malasakit Recovery Center early morning yesterday, increasing the number of recovered personnel to 156.
Yesterday, the PRO-7 conducted their “graduation” from the center after weeks of isolation, as they are now set to go back to work.
In the data of the Regional Health Service (RHS)-7 of the PRO-7, the number of COVID positive cops in Central Visayas reached to 322, 156 of them have recovered.
Police Captain Richard Ibero of the PNP Health Service said these cops will be now returning to their duties.
“I’m happy to announce that 19 of the recoveries are fully recovered of the second RTPCR test which concluded a negative result and have gone their isolation for four weeks, and I declare this 19 personnel to be recovered patient and ready to be deployed to their designated units,” Ibero said.
In a short program dedicated for them, Police Brigadier General Albert Ignatius Ferro, PRO-7 Chief, expressed his congratulatory message via online medium and hope for more recoveries among the PNP.
Aside from this, Ferro also encouraged the recovered cops to donate their blood plasma to Cebuanos who were infected with the virus.
“So kamong mga recoveries, please share your blessings as you have been a more stronger person, stronger believer in God and I hope that it could help our fellow Sugboanon diri sa dakbayan sa Cebu wherever you’re assigned at and I encourage you to be part our ‘Makatao, Malasakit Plasma Donor Program’ so that you could help extend the lives or save lives of COVID-19 patients here in Central Visayas,” Ferro said.
He also assured that the PRO-7 will not leave the remaining COVID positive cops and added that they will be helping them in any way they could.
At present, there are remaining 172 police personnel in the isolation center and hospital.
“We will not be leaving any men and women behind. So, as we have this first day of the week, we hope that more recoveries daghan pang mag-recover and sa atong mga kauban. Let’s Praise God, to him the Glory for this day they will be back,” said Ferro.
The 19 cops who recovered were currently taking a rest with their family as they are set to return to their duties next week. GAN (FREEMAN)
