CEBU, Philippines — Four drug suspects were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Cebu amid the ongoing implementation of the general community quarantine due to the threat of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The separate operations conducted by the operatives of Provincial Intelligence Branch in Sitio Tulay, Barangay Calajo-an, Minglanilla and by the Pardo Police Station in Barangay Basak, Cebu City resulted in the confiscation of over P2.5 million worth of shabu.
Jasmine Parajes, 43, and Lucky June Ibon, 37, both residents of Green Village, Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City together with Ruby Seban Macaraya, 34, of Barangay Tangke, Talisay City were arrested Friday morning during a buy-bust operation in Minglanilla.
Parajes was the subject of the operation. At least 320 grams of shabu worth P2,176,000 was seized in her possession. The suspects are now temporarily detained pending the filing of the appropriate charges.
Meanwhile, a high-value target was arrested Thursday during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Kauswagan, Barangay Basak, Cebu City. The suspect was identified as Marlon Domingo, 49, resident of the said place.
Police Major John Kareen Escober, chief of Pardo Police Station, said Domingo was found in possession of 50 grams of shabu worth P400,000. He will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. FPL (FREEMAN)
