CEBU, Philippines — After being at large for almost six years, an alleged ‘hitman’ who is facing murder charges was arrested by the Cebu City Mobile Force Company (CCMFC) at Sitio Kiwkiw, Barangay Pitalo, San Fernando, Cebu Tuesday afternoon.
Following the report of an informant, the CCMFC was able to arrest Ryan Marikit Doncillo, 29, from Barangay Lusaran, Cebu City, after he was served with a warrant of arrest that the Regional Trial Court Branch 17 has issued for murder charges back in 2012.
CCMFC Commander, Police Lt. Colonel Randy Korret, said Doncillo’s brother, Roger, was arrested last year for murder charges as well.
Ryan’s name appeared in the Philippine National Police’s E-warrant System, which prompted them to serve the warrant against him.
In their investigation in Barangay Lusaran, authorities were able to meet Doncillo’s father who said that Ryan was in San Fernando.
The CCMFC immediately coordinated with the San Fernando Police Station and the Regional Intelligence Division of the Police Regional Office-7 and conducted the manhunt operation in San Fernando.
Korret said that Ryan was on the run for six years after he was pointed as the killer of his neighbor who reportedly saw them cultivating marijuana back in 2012.
“Sila daw yung nag tatanim ng marijuana, yan yung nag-trigger sa case nya nung 2012. Dahil nakita ng tao yung plantation nila ng marijuana, so pinatay nila ng nagkaroon ng pagkakataon. That’s why nalabasan sya ng warrant of arrest,” Korret said.
Ryan, for his part, denied the allegation that he is a ‘hitman’ of a certain politician in Cebu and claimed that he is ready to defend himself in court.
Korret said that Ryan reportedly does not get along well with his neighbors.
At present, Ryan is detained at the Cebu City Police Office Detention Cell.
It was reported back in The FREEMAN in 2012 that a man died after he was shot in the head while drinking with a friend at Barangay Lusaran, Cebu City.
The victim was identified as Timoteo Puebla, 49, of Sitio Hagnom, Lusaran, Cebu City. He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds to the head at around 3 p.m. He died on the spot.
Ryan allegedly was the main suspect in the shooting. Ryan’s brother reportedly also attempted to kill Puebla in the late 1990s. GAN (FREEMAN)
