CEBU, Philippines — Two other Cebu lawmakers have been given special committee chairmanship in the House of Representatives.
Aside from Third District Representative Pablo John Garcia who was elected Deputy Speaker and Fifth District Rep. Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco who was appointed chairman of the Special Committee on Visayas Development, veteran lawmaker and First District Rep. Eduardo Gullas was also given the chairmanship of the House Special Committee on Land Use.
The committee is responsible in all matters directly and principally relating to land use issues inclusive of the enhancement of resource use and management of indigenous cultural communities, land valuation regulation, preservation of historical and cultural heritage sites, and public-private partnership as well as linkages among national and local agencies and stakeholders in land resource management.
Gullas is also the assistant majority leader of the House.
Second District Rep. Wilfredo Caminero was given the chairmanship of the House Special Committee on Food Security and vice chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food.
Fourth District Rep. Janice Salimbangon was designated vice chairperson of the House Committee on Aquaculture and Fisheries.
In addition to Frasco’s chairmanship, he is also the vice chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, Government Enterprise and Privatization, and Sustainable Development Goals.
Sixth District Rep. Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon is the vice chairman of the House Committee on Social Services, and Trade and Industry.
Seventh District Rep. Peter John Calderon is the vice chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations.
Both Cebu City North District Rep. Raul del Mar and South District Rep. Rodrigo Abellanosa neither have committee chairmanship nor membership as of this writing. — FPL (FREEMAN)
