CEBU, Philippines — The prosecutor’s office in Cebu City has charged a man before the court for allegedly killing his former co-worker.
Hamilton Monera Juarez, a resident of Media Onse, Toledo City, is facing a murder case, which is a non-bailable offense, after Prosecutor III Mario Ley Gidayawan held found probable cause to charge him based on circumstantial evidence.
“The following circumstances established by the affidavits and documents supporting the complaint constitute an unbroken chain which leads to a reasonable conclusion that Mr. Juarez may be guilty of shooting Jason Faustor,” read the resolution.
In her complaint, Sapphire Faustor alleged that Juarez killed her husband at corner Mindanao Avenue and Cardinal Rosales at 7:55 p.m. on October 8, 2018.
Though no one witnessed the incident, Sapphire alleged they were able to identify Juarez after his motorcycle, which was driven by the gunman, was captured by a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera of a mall.
Aside from the footages, they were able to recover alleged threatening messages sent by a certain “Tonix,” identified as Juarez, to her husband.
Gidayawan directed Juarez to submit his counter-affidavit to negate the allegation filed against him, but failed.
After evaluation of the complaint, Gidayawan found sufficient ground to charge Juarez before the court. (FREEMAN)
