Cebu grads top Nursing board

CEBU, Philippines —  Four graduates from three universities in Cebu made it to the Top 10 of the June 2019 licensure examination for nurses.

They are among the 5,059 who passed the exam out of 9,691 examinees and among the 43 examinees who made it to the Top 10.

Ana Bea Carmille Herrera of Cebu Doctors University placed seventh with a score of 86.20 percent, Marisol Siempre Dizon of University of Cebu – Banilad placed eighth with a score of 85.80 percent, while Cielo Jimenea Centeno also of UC-Banilad and Shaila Mae Guigayoma of Cebu Institute of Technology University landed in 10th place with a score of 85.60 percent.

Guigayoma, 20, the second of four siblings, told The Freeman that it was her sister’s sacrifice that paved the way for her to reach her dreams.

She said she almost gave up school owing to financial problems but it was her sister who decided to step aside so she could continue with her scholarship. 

She believes that the strength of a nurse is measured by her dedication to the profession and to God.

Here are the other examinees in the Top 10:

First Place (87.40 percent) – Jeremiah Paula Caceres of Angeles University Foundation and Almira Louise Olete Hinsoy of West Visayas State University - La Paz.

Second Place (87.20 percent) - Dennise Kim Marie Bulquiren Luig of West Visayas State University - La Paz,

Third Place (87 percent) – Beryl Joshua Fernandez Borja of Mountain View College, Michaelle Christiane Cabag Con-el of West Visayas State University, Ma. Ana Christina Sitchon  Tantengco of the University of the Assumption, and Geevee Naganag Ventula of Saint Paul University Tuguegarao

Fourth Place (86.80 percent) – Gerone MarieLorenzo Saquian of West Visayas State University.

Fifth Place (86.60 percent) – Shaniah Grace Braña Condag of West Visayas State University-La Paz, Joseph Dann Tesoro Enero Jr. of West Visayas State University-La Paz, and     Kaila Mae Laurente Macairan of West Visayas State University-La Paz.

Sixth Place (86.40 percent) – Tricia Jane Galvez Bautista of University of Pangasinan,   Gelene Mae Ybañez Jasmin of Western Mindanao State University Zamboanga, and Joshua Sydney Ramon Tomas of University of Saint La Salle.

 Seventh Place (86.20 percent) – Marijoe Castro Angeles of Angeles University Foundation, Darlene Grace Sabinosa Ranera of Bicol University Polangui, Leah Marie Taloza Serador of Saint Paul Tuguegara, Thomas Benroe Tallodar Supeña of West Visayas State University-La Paz, and Dan Albert Teves Timajo of Catanduanes State University Virac.

Eighth Place (86 percent) – Kathryn Avery Antonio Aldave of Catanduanes State University Virac, Neah Shane Langbayan Bruno of the University of the Philippines School of Health and Sciences- Leyte, and Edgar Philip Romanillos Patriarca of Bicol University-Tabaco.

Ninth Place (85.80 percent) – Jenros Victor Buenvenida of West Visayas State University-La Paz, Cecil- An Salivio Dalanon of Bicol University Legaspi, Karljan Paul Lopez Gayloa of Xavier University,Alyssa Lae Rafaela Go of West Visayas State University - La Paz, Justin Carlo Victoria Masangya of Our Last of Fatima University - Valenzuela, and Chloie Jorolan Singcay of Xavier University.

Tenth Place (85.60 percent) – Tristan James Saclauso Amaguin of West Visayas State University – La Paz, Airon Vince Peralta Calica of Sain Paul University – Tuguegarao, Melannie Sta. Rosa Camasis of Bicol University – Legazpi, Angelica Audrey Rosary Sambile Coronel of Angeles University Foundation, Roinuj Gano Hipol of University of the Philippines School of Health and Sciences – Leyte, Kyla Redondo Ibana of Our Lady of Fatima University – Antipolo City, Samantha Bacalso Maandig of Xavier University, Angel Mae Tan Malones of West Visayas State University – La Paz, Joyce Grace Ignacio Sevella of Baliuag University (Baliuag Colleges), and Claudine Cornel Villamor of Catanduanes State University – Virac.
