CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (COSAP) is optimistic that the honoraria for barangay tanods would be released before the new administration takes the helm at City Hall.
COSAP Chief Garry Lao said his office is fasttracking the checking of requirements and processing of payroll to avoid backlogs.
“We have less than a month to process everything. But we are optimistic that our tanods will get their honoraria on time,” he said.
Each tanod will receive 4,000 pesos per month.
Lao said some barangays have yet to submit their requirements, including daily time record, individual accomplishment report, and authority to serve, among others.
For the month of April, the barangays of Banilad, Busay, Mabini, Babag, Toong, Mambaling and Guadalupe have not submitted yet the documents.
Barangay Mambaling also has yet to submit documents for the months of January, February and March.
COSAP is also waiting for the documents of Barangay Guadalupe for the months of February and March.
“Submit your documents so you will get your honoraria on time,” said Lao.
Lao said the barangays have until June 5 to submit the requirements to get their honoraria for the month of May.
Moreover, he said his office is ready to turn over the documents to the next administration.
“We already prepared the documents for easy turnover. We are just waiting for a memorandum from Mayor-elect Edgardo Labella for the turnover of documents,” he said.
He said the Liga ng mga Barangay (ABC) might be handling again the processing of payrolls for barangay tanods. (FREEMAN)
