High-grade drugs sold in Cebu City
CEBU, Philippines — Police are now checking the presence of a “new potent and high-grade” illegal drug in circulation following the recent recovery of a dark brown suspected shabu last Saturday.
Cebu City Police Office director Police Colonel Royina Garma told reporters that they are not certain yet where the shabu was sourced.
Based on reports, the CCPO Intelligence Branch led by Police Lt. Colonel Carlito Apilat arrested Marvin “Ogis” Saberon, 32, in Barangay Lahing-lahing Dos, Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
Saberon, in return, yielded 430 grams of shabu worth P2.9 million along with the dark brown stash.
“Yes may nahuli na brown ang color at yung effect is different which is alarming. This is really very very bad... You are destroying human resources which is very alarming,” Garma said.
Apilat said though that the dark brown shabu is considered as high-grade but has the same potency.
Garma said that she directed cops to trace the sources in order to stop another dark brown shabu from proliferating.
Garma blamed the lack of ordinances that will help monitor the new renters coming to Cebu City.
She urged local officials to look into enforcing policies for renters to present valid document. She said that most drug personalities take advantage of boarding houses for their drug business.
“Puro hindi taga duon ang nahuhuli so please come up with ordinances on how to regulate renters. You can invite our chief of police to be actively involved. Instead of the police doing so. I would encourage para mapabilis,” she said. (FREEMAN)
