CEBU, Philippines — Three volunteers for the National Youth Day event were robbed by the caretaker of the apartment they were renting along Jimenez Street, Barangay Ward 2, Minglanilla, Cebu about 4:15 a.m. yesterday.

Victims Jewil Medina Tabiola, 19, from Barangay Poblacion, Talisay City; Francesca Ylyson Pangilinan Regelado, 20, from Barangay Urgello, Cebu City; and Kim Robert John Almasan, 23, from Barangay Cambanag, Danao City reported to the police that they have lost their belongings they had left inside their rented unit.

The missing items include an olive green bag with used clothes worth about P7,000; a black sling bag with identification cards and P500, earphones, two watches, a mobile phone worth P6,000 and a pink wallet with P300, another wallet with P600 and a laptop.

Minglanilla Police Station Chief Verniño Noserale said the suspect Anderson Resane, 37, was pointed to by the victims as the one who stole their items.

Resane reportedly told Regalado that her bag was near the comfort room.  When she checked her bag, she noticed that her wallet and watch were already missing.

When she told her friends about it, they later realized that they have been robbed.

When personnel of the Minglanilla Police Station inspected the room the victims were renting, they saw that there were no signs of forced entry.

Noserale said the room may have been accessed through a key.

Resane is still at large.

"It was on their own accord nga naa sila nag-rent.  Wala labot ang organizers sa National Youth Day. At large ang suspek but nafilan na ug kaso," he said.
