CEBU, Philippines — Metro Cebu can expect warmer days ahead, according to a local officer from Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Romeo Aguirre, weather specialist from PAGASA Lapu-Lapu City station, said Metro Cebu has started to register warm temperatures this month.
He said temperatures on the previous days exceeded September’s average maximum temperature of 31.8 degrees Celsius.
He said the highest recorded temperatures were on September 7 and 8 with 33.5 degrees Celsius and 33.7 degrees Celsius, respectively.
On September 4, on the other hand, the temperature peaked at 32.6 degrees Celsius, a bit higher than September 3’s 32.6 degrees Celsius.
Aguirre said warmer days are expected this month as PAGASA earlier reported that rainfall condition over Visayas will be “below normal.”
He explained that this event means that Visayas will receive rains lower than the average or normal amount it usually gets every September.
Moreover, he said an average of two to three tropical cyclones are expected to develop and enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility this September. (FREEMAN)
