Fundraising for fire victims in Gabii sa Kabilin

CEBU, Philippines — Among the highlights in tonight’s Gabii sa Kabilin or Night of Heritage will be portrait sketching for a cause at the Rizal Memorial Library and Museum.

Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission (CHAC) officer-in-charge Bryner Diaz revealed that the Portrait Artists' Society of the Philippines, Inc. (PASPI) will participate in tonight’s activity.

They organized portrait sketching for their colleagues who are victims of the recent Ermita fire.

“Ang PASPI, gawas nga ni-donate sila atung mga boxer codex, mag- portrait sketching pud sila. Mangayo ra pud sila'g donation in any amount. Ila ra pud gihangyo kay naa sila’y kauban nga artist nga nasunogan didto sa Ermita ug katung na-ospital.  Atu ra pud gitugtan kay mutabang sad baya sila diri sa museum, mu-donate pud sila’g daghan nga paintings,” Diaz said.

Diaz added that PASPI is one of their regular partners in the annual heritage night event.

They have prepared lots of activities for this year’s Gabii sa Kabilin with the theme ‘Balangay’.

The tickets worth P150 for 30 sites are almost sold out.

The police and members of the Barangay Intelligence Network (BIN) are assigned to secure the whole activity. — Rena Mae Gocotano, CNU Intern/MBG (FREEMAN)
