CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City will get help from Yeosu City of South Korea in terms of vegetable farming and growing cultured mussels.
“There are many areas where Yeosu can help us, not only in Cebu City but even the provinces. Particularly, they’re very strong with vegetables,” Mayor Tomas Osmeña said.
Osmeña with Alvin Dizon, the chairman of the Cebu City Sisters Cities Commission, visited Yeosu last week upon the invitation Yeosu Mayor Ju Cheolyeon.
Osmena also said that the city is very good at raising cultured mussels.
“They’re very strong in raising cultured mussels and you know, we have very strong potential for tahong (mussels) here,” the mayor said.
Yeosu will also donate medical equipment and supplies to Cebu City.
But Dizon said they have yet to identify the medical equipment and supplies to be donated to Cebu.
Osmeña and Dizon came home in Cebu last Sunday. (FREEMAN)
