CEBU, Philippines — The National Housing Authority has raffled off 148 housing units to qualified beneficiaries from Barangays Talisay, Tominjao, and Bagay in the municipality of Daanbantayan.
The housing units are located at Green Heights I in Barangay Tominjao where a total of 750 units are available for occupancy.
Beneficiaries were victims of typhoon Yolanda as well as informal settlers and those living in the danger zones.
Daanbantayan Mayor Vicente Loot said the raffle last Friday was the third round after the first two rounds with a total of 262 housing units in Maya Park Homes.
Present during the raffle draw were Loot, NHA General Manager Marcelino Escalada Jr., NHA-7 Regional Manager Engr. Gavino Figuracion, other NHA officials, barangay officials, and partner agencies and stakeholders.
The NHA and the local government units of Daanbantayan have allocated 4,363 housing units located at various locations in Daanbantayan.
Prior to the raffles, the NHA and the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office have been conducting meetings with residents in different barangays about the government housing program for low income families.
Daanbantayan has 20 barangays wherein 13 are coastal areas, two islands, and five inlands.
Located in the northern most tip of the Province of Cebu, Daanbantayan was severely devastated by typhoon Yolanda in 2013. (FREEMAN)
