CEBU, Philippines - A 24-year-old Taiwanese national on vacation in Cebu City, lost his passport along with P38,000 cash while he was eating at a restaurant along Salinas Drive, Barangay Lahug last Saturday evening.
Ting Yuan Lee, who is temporarily residing in a hotel along Osmeña Boulevard, casually placed his brown sling bag worth P7,000 beside him as he was eating.
He noticed three unidentified suspects, two men and one woman, who sat beside their table, but he continued on with his meal.
Lee only realized he lost his possessions when he was about to pay for his meal.
Inside the brown sling bag was his wallet with cash and MasterCard credit card, passport with number 31364324 issued on July 1, 2016 and will expire on July 1, 2025.
The victim immediately reported to the nearest tourist police unit and reported the incident.
Responding officers immediately requested CCTV access from the establishment and confirmed it was the three unidentified suspects who carted away the items.
Follow-up operations are still ongoing to identify the suspects involved and for the possible return of Ting's stolen items. (FREEMAN)
