CEBU, Philippines - The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) 7 will kick off this year's Fire Prevention Month activities with a “Walk for Fire Safety” event set for 5 a.m. tomorrow.
Senior Supt. Samuel Tadeo, BFP 7 director, told reporters that this year's activities will focus on how communities can help their respective local fire departments in handling fire.
Tadeo said that this year, they will hold activities that will allow civilians to participate in fire prevention and mitigation.
He also urged civilians to call their nearby fire stations if fire occurs near or within their communities.
Meanwhile, BFP-7 officials also provided 100 relief packs to fire victims in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

Senior Fire Officer 1 Wendell Villanueva, BFP 7 Public Information Officer, said that this was the first time that they held such activity under Tadeo's watch.
The “Walk for Fire Safety” will start at the BFP 7 station at N. Bacalso Avenue. (FREEMAN)
