CEBU, Philippines - A man in his late 30s, whose head may have been smashed with a huge rock, was found dead near the South Road Properties subway past 7 a.m. yesterday.
Police only identified the victim as Willy based on the account of a woman whom the victim had lived with for a short period of time.
Police Officer 3 Jerry Genelaso of the Cebu City Police Office – Homicide Section believes the crime was carried out yesterday dawn based on the victim’s blood which already dried up when the police arrived.
Genelaso said someone who passed by the area saw the lifeless body and immediately reported the incident to the authorities.
The police recovered at the crime scene a huge rock beside the victim’s body which might have been used to crush his head.
No other wounds were found on the victim’s body aside from those on his head.
Genelaso believed that personal grudge is the motive behind the killing since the victim was known to be a “toughie” in the area.
He said the perpetrator might have done the crime on Willy to exact revenge on the victim.
Police are still conducting follow up investigation into the incident. (FREEMAN)
