CEBU, Philippines - While out on an assignment in another area, a parish priest lost some valuables he left at home after robbers took advantage of his absence.
Reverend Fr. Dwight Cañizares, 58, a resident of Simala, Sibonga, Cebu, lost a 2000-volt panther transformer worth P5,000, a karaoke player with microphone worth P8,000 and a DVD player.
Police Officer 3 Ederlino Bacusmo of the Sibonga Police Station, together with his colleagues, responded to the alarm after it was reported to them Tuesday night.
The police suspect that the robbery happened on the nights of January 13 and 14 when Cañizares was not at home.
Bacusmo added that the crime was only discovered last Sunday when the victim's sister, Arlene, noticed that some jalousie blades of the comfort room were already removed.
The Sibonga police are now conducting an investigation to determine the identities of the suspects for the possible filing of a robbery complaint before the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor's Office. (FREEMAN)
