CEBU, Philippines - The Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group-7 arrested an alleged drug pusher in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City Thursday night, two days after the agency learned about the suspect’s alleged illegal activities.
Jesse “Titing” Galarse was arrested after selling a pack of suspected shabu to an operative during the buy-bust operation in Lower Sindulan, Barangay Mabolo at past 8 p.m.
Galarse’s alleged cohort, Alvin Escoton, was also arrested.
The RAIDSOTG operatives also recovered from Galarse at least 19 small packs of suspected shabu, including the subject of the buy-bust operation, and a caliber 9mm revolver with five live ammunition.
Aside from these, the police also recovered P600 believed to be the proceeds from the sale, as well as a digital weighing scale.
The team leader, Senior Inspector Mark Henrix Bancoleta, said an informant told them of the suspect’s operation and they immediately conducted a test-buy, which yielded positive.
“Nadawat nato ang information two days ago. Ilado man kaayo ni siya sa lugar; daghan sad kaayo ang mopalit ani niya,” Bancoleta said.
Galarse said he did not own the drugs and the gun recovered by the police but refused to comment further.
Escoton, on the other hand, said “sabit lang ko ani” and denied any involvement in the illegal drugs operation.
Bacayan operation
Still in Cebu City, RAIDSOTG-7 operatives still led by Bancoleta arrested Wen Jen Yco in Sitio Sugarlandia, Barangay Bacayan during a buy-bust operation at past 3 p.m. yesterday.
They confiscated one large pack, four medium packs, and four small packs shabu weighing a total of 50 grams and worth a total of P590,000.
They also recovered the marked money used in the bust and a separate P500 believed to be proceeds of the sale.
The inventory at the scene was witnessed by barangay councilwoman Rosita Cirilo and Edwin Cañete of TV5.
