CEBU, Philippines - Police confiscated more than P300,000 worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations in Barangay Tayud, Consolacion town that led to the arrest of three alleged drug pushers.
Arrested in the first operation at past 1 a.m. that yielded at least P233,300 worth of suspected shabu were Generoso Auman, 36, and Arman Arnaiz, 30. Auman was arrested as soon as he reportedly handed over a pack of shabu worth P200 to the poseur-buyer.
Policemen searched the suspect and found more shabu in medium-sized and three small packs. Arnaiz, who was at the premises of Auman’s house during the buy-bust operation, was also arrested after he reportedly tried to escape. He was seized with a pack of shabu.
The shabu confiscated from the suspects weighed at least 5.23 grams and amounted to P233,300.
Before the day ended, another buy-bust operation was conducted by the police in the same barangay that led to the confiscation of more than P100,000 worth of shabu.
Police failed to arrest though the subject of the operation, Willy Acay, but arrested the latter’s alleged henchman Lucio Trangia, 31.
Trangia was reportedly the one who transacted with the poseur-buyer. He allegedly went to Acay to get P200 worth of shabu and handed it over to the buyer. Acay, who was just inside the house, was being watched by the police.
When Trangia handed over the shabu to the police and took the buy-bust money, operatives swooped down on him.
Acay, who noticed the policemen, ran into the dark and eventually disappeared.
The police found two medium-size packs of shabu worth P116,000 reportedly thrown by Acay while escaping.
The arrested suspects are now detained at Consolacion Police Station and will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
