Man stabs elder brother over P300

CEBU, Philippines - A man is in critical condition after he was stabbed by his younger sibling in the middle of their argument over a P300 rent of their house in Barangay Kinasang-an Pardo yesterday morning.

Allan Kiamco, 51, was stabbed by his younger brother, Jaime, 48, in the chest and neck.

Homicide investigator Winston Ybañez said the siblings fought over the rental of their house. The siblings are renting out a house and are allegedly relying from the rentals to have their ends met.

Initial investigation shows that the siblings would fight every time the boarders will pay the rentals because each of them wanted to collect it.

Jaime allegedly wanted to receive the rental so he could ask commission from his mother. The victim also wanted to collect the money resulting in heated argument that eventually led in the stabbing.

Ybañes said the younger brother confronted the victim after he found out that the latter did not give the money to their mother.

The younger brother got angry upon learning that the victim lost the money to gambling. Out of anger, Jaime took a kitchen knife and stabbed his brother several times.

The victim was immediately brought to the Cebu City Medical Center where he is currently confined.

Jaime was arrested during a follow-up operation conducted by the police. He is now detained at the Pardo Police Station pending the filing of the criminal complaint.  (FREEMAN)
