CEBU, Philippines - A 36-year-old dispatcher was shot dead Sunday morning by two unidentified gunmen in Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City.
Emanuel Robillos, resident of Sitio Cabancalan II in the same barangay, succumbed to a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Senior Police Officer 2 Ruth Violango, homicide investigator, said the incident happened at around 9 a.m. while the victim was dispatching passenger jeepneys in front of the Asian College of Technology.
Violango said the two unidentified assailants approached the victim and shot him at close range without any provocation. Robillos was able to run to the next corner where he fell down.
The culprits just fled on foot as if nothing happened.
Robillos was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center where he died few hours later.
Violango said the victim had been engaged in verbal tussles with some jeepney drivers prior to the shooting incident.
“Ug naa’y masuko nga jeepney drivers kay dili niya ma-prioritize, masuko man pud kuno ni siya. Isogon man ni tawhana gud,” said Violango.
Violango said the culprits could be among those Robillos have had conflict with. (FREEMAN)
